I think it would be a great tour. We walked to it along with Gerry. I think we need to put together some activities and see who is interested. I think you would be a good leader and I can help with the guiding.
This year will be different for me. Tori Harper has gone through some cancer surgery and she is coming to the 7th Ranch as we have since 2010. I want to make sure this is a good trip for her and don't know what she can and can not do.
Here are some things we can do.
A drive up Reno Creek to the divide
A walk to the grave markers in the valley
Attend the Real Bird event
Float the river
Horseback short tour (probably a Real Bird tour if available) cross at Ford B ride to 3411, down Cedar Coulee and across MTC to Luce, Butler marker, ending with crossing the LBH river from MTC to the Big Village location Bring boots the Real Birds don't like tennis shoes when riding
Tour the battlefield
Meet some of the seasonal rangers that give talks and write books
Go on the Friends tour whatever it is for this year, last year we walked to the top of SSR ( you need to be member to sign up) Gerry and bc went last year
Eat at the Trading Post (no hamburgers except for Chuck who likes them) I suggest the Indian taco which is called the Navajo Taco in Northern Arizona
A cookout with Dutch ovens the covered area at the 7th Ranch might be a good place, would need to talk with Chip
Sides for other could include Busby, Rosebud battlefield
Regards
Steve

Does the Trading Post deliver? I wonder how large a tip would be required for delivery in Richmond?
Graduation for the 2GD is mid June.
LBH and this year's primary elections fall at the same time in June. I hope the latter half of that month to be busy as a one armed paperhanger. We will know on the 26th of this month how successful she has been.
I hope you all realize that the madam's idea of roughing it is when high heels are inappropriate, and her definition of camping out is when all the five stars are full, and you have to make do with the Holiday Inn.

Holiday inns are excellent places to stay, we stayed in two when we were over there, New York and San Francisco, we stayed at the noisy circus-circus in Vegas, which was not as good.
Whats going down, anyway. are you all meeting up this year?

Ian, I love Steve's post above. We need folks to commit, not just say I think so, or I am waiting for significant other, or some other such. Steve and I at least will do that float. I am, for sure, going back to the divide and the Rosebud BF. I also plan on Cody, WY, Prairie Dog shoot, and the reenactment.
You and the bride should drop in. Its just across the pond, after all.
Regards, Tom

I am hoping for two things other than family events while I am in Virginia, going to the USMC Museum with Tom, and a chance to have Tom buy me dinner at Gerber's New Yorker in beautiful downtown Bowling Green, a place that makes the Trading Post seem like Delmonico's in New York in the old days. With each dinner comes a free box of Alka Seltzer, and you will need it for days afterward. Beats the crap out of SOS in a mess kit during a rain storm though.

Chuck, You are killing me, I am driving to Rapid and leave the 14th, as I want to be there for Jerome Green's, Dr. James Hanson's and Jon Nelson's presentations. If I had known I would have begged you to come on the 12th so I could take you to Quantico on the 13th. I may see if one of my sons can take you, one AGR and one former Guard. I am sure your family will fill your time, but I am sick about this!

Tom: Appreciate the offer, but I will have transportation. Plan to take King William III with me. I get back at least every 18 months so we will do it some other time. Actually I would have liked to have gone on the Saturday before (11 June) but I have commitments until Monday the 13th that cannot be broken.

Give me the required information Dave and I will visit their graves and insure they are well cared for. I have a close friend buried there too, and I thought I would stop by for a chat while I am in the area.

The Real Bird reenactment of the Battle of the Little Bighorn has become an annual event that is also part of “Native Days,” sponsored by the Crow Indian Tribe at the nearby town of Crow Agency—a three day festival that coincides, deliberately, with anniversary of Little Bighorn.
The Real Bird family is planning 220 mounted troopers ride from Reno Hill Top to Medicine Tail Coulee (maybe Last Stand Hill). They are inviting people to participate or observe. The event starts 10:00 a.m. June 25, probably from the Real Bird camp on the Little Big Horn.
The Real Bird Reenactment will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 24-25-26. More details are available from Henry Real Bird 406-696-3227 (henryrealbird@gmail.com).
