We have Wi-Fi if its up at the 7th ranch.
Steve
Great! We can expect on site reports then. Perhaps if there is a really good connection we can work up some sort of video chat with those there and those left behind. In the mean time I am progressing with my PT and actually walked for 10 whole minutes on the tread mill yesterday. I know that doesn't sound like much until you consider a month ago I could barely walk. Hopefully in a year or so I can handle LBH. Improvement always sound good. I think you will do well. I get ready for this every year and its a goal to try to save my horse from carrying my extra weight. This year will be especially good since Tori is cancer free. She is still finishing the radiation treatments.
I wish you the best in your endeavor.
Regards
Steve

I hope one day we can beat this horrible disease, cures for Cancer, Alzheimer and heart disease should be top priority and not just down to donations from the normal working people. Keep up the good work Beth, a friend of mine who likes a beer or two was told to shed some weight by walking, I wanted to strap a stick to his head and dangle a bottle of beer from the end and put him on a tread mill, as he will walk miles for a beer. Imagine changing this carrot to a bottle of beer, then that would get him moving;

In to the final countdown for this years adventure. I am taking an Armorer's course on June 14 for the Departments new sidearm which is the SIG 320. The Dodge will be packed and when I get home its off to South Dakota. Will meet up with Tom in Rapid City. Hope to spend some time in Deadwood also.
Then a slow journey to Montana. We have lots of friends there to see. Chip and Sandy at the 7th Ranch where Tori Harper will join us. Several Park Rangers whom we have shared some good times. Putt at the Custer Battlefield Trading Post. Dave Miller of the Miller ranch. (Benteen's route area) Pilu Pretty On Top runs the Post Office at Garryowen.
Our friend Gerry who gives a talk at the Real Bird event. The reenactors that show up every year and camp next to the cavalry school. The cavalry school with its leaders and instructors. This year there is suppose to be around 200 soldiers and 60 Indians. If they can't win this time it is hopeless. The Indians have not weapons.
Hardin with it fine museum including the Will James section. The rodeo and Crow activities.
There is a shoot at the old Fort Custer on the Thursday before the reenactment. Single action revolver and carbines.
The Friends tour and this year it is looking at Custer moving to the north with Mike Donahue.
At least one trip to Billings and we go to the Mexican food place Don Luis that Gordie had picked out for our first ICE trip. We drink a Dos Equis to him.
Throw in a potential horseback trip and some scouting up the south fork of Reno Creek.
Another attempt at floating the river.
Some Dutch oven cooking and good times in the evenings at the 7th Ranch.

I would really like to fire a Sharpe's carbine on one of the ranges, I don't know much about these ranges and how they operate, so do you just turn up and pay x amount of dollars for a certain amount of time and a limited number of rounds?

Ian, I wish you were coming, I'd bring a Sharps Rifle(not carbine), in fact if Steve wants to shoot it I'd bring it.
Regards, Tom

That would be fun Tom and thanks for the offer, I have not fired a weapon since 1979 and that was a shot gun, but I would be in my element on a range that had a number of different firearms including single shot, automatics and semi-automatics from different ages, I could just see myself letting fly with a Thompson or a BAR. We don’t have anything like that over here and I would like to see if I can still shoot as I wasn’t that bad of a shot back in the day.

At our range in Flagstaff you pay to use the range but there is no available firearms or ammunition. You bring your own firearms and ammunition.
At the Fort Custer event it seemed like some of the possessors of the firearms were willing to share.
In Phoenix at Shooter's World you can rent firearms and purchase ammunition.

Steve you are packing some iron there old chum, I think that the Winchester is a superb rifle and just looks the part, it would look great mounted over a mantel piece. I would like to have the WW2 holy trinity of SMLE, M1 and K89 rifles in a rack (de-activated of course otherwise I would be getting my collar felt)

Hello to all,
I'll be at LBH in two weeks time, costing a a small fortune but can't wait. At the CAGB meeting last weekend I had a few (good natured) comments about my timing, I return to Stockport (UK) on the 22nd June!. Still, I'm told everyone is very friendly and I'm assured of a warm welcome.
Regards
Joe

I'm in we will go to a Ranch in Round Up above Billings and whack P. Dogs with a pair of .223's, 5.56 for those across the pond. I also have a .22 mag for close up work. The lady wants them gone as they endanger cattle.
Regards, Tom
P.S. is Tori coming to Rapid?

Nope Her friend can not take anymore time off. I think there is going to be very few of us in SD. I guess some missions don't require a lot.

Couple of reenactor pards and myself will definitely be there--both Rapid City & LBH. We know some of you all, but have no real plans at all--there's just plain too much to do. We've all been there many times before, but it's been years so we're somewhat out of touch with what's going on. This will be a new adventure.
