I will be out there with the rest of the Montana Mayhem group. Our trip starts June 16 and we all head home on the 27th. We are doing the LBHA thing in Rapid City and then heading down to Fort Robinson, over to Casper, then up to the Phil Kearny area, and ending up at Little Big Horn. We are an easy group to spot. Six (although this year we will sadly be short one) guys who look like they drank beer all night out wandering around in the hot sun. If you see us, say hello. I know we plan to see AZRanger and Gerry like we did back in 2013. Here's a shot of the gang at Medicine Tail Coulee: Left to Right -- Gerry Schultz, Scott Nelson (treasuredude), Michael Olson, Gary Lemery, Lorne Langley, AZ Ranger, Michael Reeve, Frank Bodden, and Fred Wagner. Fun times.

Me too
Hopefully my new truck will be ready. I have a Sig Sauer armorer course armorer course on June 14 and then I head to Rapid City. Then to Montana.
If you are thinking about attending the Friends of Little Bighorn field trip the application is out now. Should be interesting. I think it starts at LSH and heads north from there. I signed up along with Tori Harper.
"This year, we will have an incredible field trip led by Park Ranger and Battle Historian extraordinaire Mike Donahue. This year, we venture into terrain most of us have only observed from a distance: Following Custer's Left Wing Along the Custer Ridge Extension: Ford D Exit One Mile Ahead promises to surpass last year’s walk along Sharpshooters Ridge with Donahue. Did the left wing follow the Custer Ridge Extension beyond Last Stand Hill? If so, what was Custer’s objective? Was he hoping to capture the noncombatants, or were there other reasons? Donahue will share his theories to answer these questions and more. Please fill out the registration form and mail to the address noted at its top. At this moment, only Friends members are receiving this email. We will not post this event for solicitation on Facebook or the web, because we always give Friends members’ first chance to purchase tickets. Times and location are noted on the registration form."
You can join at www.friendslittlebighorn.com/ and receive the email and registration form.
Regards
Steve

I can't remember exactly why but I don't think we're going to make the Friend's tour. We had discussed it and if I remember right it conflicted with something else.
That being said I would love to hear about it and see any photos. We went on the Friend's tour back in 2013 with Dr. Douglas Scott. Walked around on Greasy Grass ridge and other points where you normally don't get to go. Very much worthwhile and highly recommended.

My new truck has arrived. A Ram Power wagon with an AEV modification. I am learning how to climb up in it.
There is a message from the Real Birds that there will be over 200 troopers this year. Maybe they can fix and flank the Indians this time.
My Department is switching to Sig 320s and I am attending the armorer course for them on June 14. My truck will be packed and I will head out to South Dakota as soon as I get home.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Steve

Great! We can expect on site reports then. Perhaps if there is a really good connection we can work up some sort of video chat with those there and those left behind. In the mean time I am progressing with my PT and actually walked for 10 whole minutes on the tread mill yesterday. I know that doesn't sound like much until you consider a month ago I could barely walk. Hopefully in a year or so I can handle LBH.
