Yes, Schwamberger is another one I pay attention too. Both of them rely on facts, and differentiate when they express opinions, saying so, rather then just putting something out there as if it was a fact.
Despite my many differences with Wagner, I will certainly be on the look out for that movie. I have no doubt that all of the props, uniforms, etc. will be completely accurate, and while I may differ with the internals of the story being told, I am sure that it will be the best version of LBH on film. No conspiracy theories, no wives tales passed down that can never be proven one way or the other, no sentimental drivel, or fan boy nonsense. Still it is one man's interpretation of the information available, and only regarded as a plausible, but not indisputable, presentation of fact. Looking forward to it.

It should be good, after all he thinks he is Keogh, and has all that time to practice in his mama's basement.

Been talking to Richard Anderson again, he added some more about Mac!
Mac and "Doc" Cole of OCMH were both consultant reviewers for the Ardennes Campaign Data Base completed by DMSi for the US Army CAA in 1990. I was one of the leads on the project and was able to spend some time with both of them. They were both marvelous gentlemen.

Cole is another that I greatly admire.
People generally do not understand how I look at history, particularly the Alamo and LBH, rejecting all of the tribal fairy tales, and wild theories that abound about these two battles, and others as well. It is people like MacDonald, Hugh Cole, and Roy Appleman (Korean War) that set those standards in their own work, and I try as best I can to follow their pathway. If that hurts someone's fellings, or makes me some sort of outcast, so be it. I do not really care. Some day these stories that I reject out of hand may be proven true (the operative word being proven), but until then, they are just so much crap that clouds the issue, and cannot be taken as history if we maintain that history must be based upon proven fact. When that unlikely event does happen, I will be first in line to say I was wrong. I don't fear being wrong, any more than I would seek praise for being right.
The Tamiya JS III is a great kit Ian. Russian simple of course, as far as design goes. I will hit a wall about paint though, and it may be primed but incomplete for some time to come.

You can't fix stupid Ian.
Remember the second part of the Great Commandment - "Love your neighbor as yourself" Wearing masks and being vaccinated are not only protection for yourself, they are also loving your neighbor by your actions, not wishing to pass on the disease, thereby looking out for their welfare too. Children from 5-11 have not been vaccinated. That will change starting on Thursday when children between those ages will start getting their first shots. Until that becomes universal to that age group, masks should be mandated for public indoor events like school classrooms. Admittedly, masks are a pain in the butt, but so is getting sick and dying.
Douglas is the next county north of us, and being a Denver suburb its politics are moderate to slightly liberal. Generally speaking those areas of our country that have those political leanings follow local and state government guidelines that lay out positive, proactive, preventive measures. There are some though that do not like those guidelines. They have the right to express those views, but not the right to threaten or provoke violence.
In the end, sanity will win, but it will be some time yet, as this is just another part of the culture wars that have been raging in this country for about a decade. In a remarkable way, they are much the same as what occurred during the twenty of so years that followed our civil war.
Last Sunday was the first time we have worshiped inside our church since March 2020. Our church holds 600 people at capacity, but for the time being we have limited it to two hundred. Inside the pews are marked off for social distancing, masks are required, vaccinated or not (first time I have worn one in a very long time). We added an additional service to make up for reduced capacity. Our children have an ongoing religious education program reestablished. Mass can be viewed live on a persons computer if they feel safer that way. And most of all everyone obeyed the rules without complaint. In fact the general atmosphere was one of celebration that we had reached yet another milestone on the road to victory. Fortunately we have only lost two in our congregation to COVID, and they were both in assisted living and died early in the spring of 2020. Living by the rules, and obeying guidelines pays dividends, not just for yourself but others too. Loving your neighbor as yourself.

We have started to get back to normal here, but again as soon as the kids go back to school the cases go up again, so we are being urged to ware masks when inside public areas like shops etc. Its just the little things like masks and hand gel, that we need to get used to, I am used to it because of my job, but my places of work are really warm to work in, so if I am on my own I don't ware a mask only disposable gloves. You can look a fool not waring a mask when the doctors and nurses are all waring them, its not safe, so I find it a way of live.

It has become a way of life Ian for most people, but again you cannot fix stupid. People who shout the loudest about freedom, do not understand that freedom stops at our nose, and at our front door. When you impinge on my freedom by your irresponsible actions it is not freedom at all. It is rebellion against what it really means to be free, that being the ability to live one's life as they generally please, but staying within the rules that bind us together as a society, and not placing another of our fellow citizens in possible danger by irresponsible actions. You are free to drive a car, but that freedom does not extend to breaking speed limits, or recklessly handling your vehicle. You are free to own a gun, but you are not free to shoot someone with it, for no reason. You are free to say what you wish, but you are not free to say what you wish in my house without fear of serious repercussions, like getting your sorry ass thrown out of my house on your ear, followed by the words - don't come here again. Freedom has its limitations. It is not an excuse for behave anyway you might wish.
Responsible people live their lives in a responsible manner. The rest are dumb shits.

That's humans for you Chuck, you will never get everyone to agree with you, no matter what sense you make.
I don't know if you know that the leaders of the world are in Glasgow Scotland, to discuss climate change, apparently this is real deal and we have to make changes otherwise our grand kids will suffer for our actions.
I hope some good comes out of it because we need to stop burning fossil fuels and chopping down the rain Forrest's. I hope too it works because this gathering in the UK if costing us millions and millions to stage.
But three world leaders never bothered to turn up, from Russia, China and Saudi Arabia. The three worst along with the USA.
I like the nice comments that Biden said to Prince Charles, he seemed genuine about it too. I don't think you would have got it on your news channels.

Butting in a little. We get that news. It's whether you want to listen to it or not.
Mounting Soap Box/
I want to pontificate a bit.
Global warming. The Earth has gone through many cycles of warming and cooling. None of the models explain the Roman and Medieval Warm Periods. We don't know why Ice Ages start and why they ended. Life has continued throughout all these cycles. In the 1970's, people were worried about another Ice Age. The fact that we have avoided one may be due to human induced climate change. I'm not saying this has happened. I live on a barrier island. People are still doing new construction on it and homes are selling around me for crazy prices. Some people who buy these things are worried about global warming. The big yellow object in the sky could be doing 'stuff' to us. On the other hand, everything has a carrying capacity. The world was once much warmer and had much more oxygen than we had now.
On people's behavior. I the long term trend has been and continues to be, "it's all about me." In the US, people think it is all about their rights and they no longer consider when their rights expire. I think this is partly due to the fact that people no longer feel they have a duty to the country. An important decision made about this was ending the draft and forming a volunteer army. With no mandatory service, people do not particularly mingle with people from other parts of the country or those not like themselves. They are unwilling to sacrifice for the greater need. Without duty, there is little or no appetite for sacrifice. This was made clear to me when President Bush II was asked about what people should do and about lowering taxes, and his reply was something like "Go shopping." The country is now based on self and the accumulation of money and this is what happens with an inward focus. And our leaders only care about staying in power, regardless of whatever else they say.
In part this is also due to the fact that the US is not subject to an external threat. I think the draft should be resumed as well as some sort of greater mandatory service to the nation. This may be thought to be undemocratic by some, but I say shared duty and sacrifice is fundamental to democracy.
Another trend is the lack of adherence to the Golden Rule and/or the Thumper Law (from Disney's Bambi): "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." This does not mean to refrain from heated discussion, but to attack position/policy and not people.
While I am an atheist, I think many Christians seem to forget that the basis of Christianity was forgiveness not so much in "right" and in "rendering to Caesar what is Caesar's."
If we are reluctant to make a small sacrifice of wearing a mask to avoid spraying someone with snot, we cannot be expected to make a larger sacrifice to try to do something about climate change or sacrificing one's life for one's country.
Another point is climate change is not going to destroy the planet. The planent and life have survived much worse. Human life may suffer, but human life will continue. But there are things which can be done to mitigate it, like not living on a barrier island and maye planting a tree or two. And wearing a mask.
What I think will work for the US may not work in the UK or anywhere else.
Your opinion may differ. That's all this is. My opinion.

I see "mom's for liberty" are against vaccines for kids. They seem to be for women and children only, so you and Chuck are expendable.

LOL. Life is about doing one's duty. One's duty is to be born, reproduce, and die.
