Is it to early to discuss a possible 2018 run? I am thinking of asking a history loving cousin to come with me which if she agrees would make my life much easier-that is if there is big enough interest from everyone else. One of the carrots I want to dangle is the chance to meet very well informed people. I do have a hard "I have to be home" date of the last week in May and possibly the first week of June. Gwen graduates High School next spring but I won't know the date until later summer. This year's class is graduating on June 2nd and I believe Sam graduated on the 5th. This ne'er do well is definitely interested. I will likely be on SSDI and will have an open schedule.

Tom "Chuck has a wonderful wife, he may have married above his station in life " Down here where I live, if a man has not married above himself he is a fool. I am not a fool, maybe an idiot but not a fool. Regards Dave

First David, Steve and cracked a couple bottles of 90 Shilling, they were as good as you said. Spent the night before last in Buffalo, WY. Have another recommendation for a place to stay not too far from the battlefield, the Occidental Hotel. If it is good enough for two fine upstanding people of character like Tom Horn and Butch Cassidy you should enjoy. www.occidentalwyoming.com/ Visited Ft. Kearney, Fetterman Battlefield, and Wagon Box Battlefield. Had a late lunch at Chuck's favorite restaurant.

Yesterday Steve and I entered the battlefield by the old road, visited the whole Ford D area and saw how BRE could have played a role and the escape route to CR. Interesting. I will let Steve elaborate.
We also spoke to a writer yesterday who has another name for the officer who was shot at the river and has some proof. He also has reasons for company I was whacked in the swale.

It's become a Montana Mayhem tradition. There's also a great microbrew up the street - Mishap Brewing (formerly Clear Creek Brewing).

Hi all
I think I may have spoken to the same writer at the battlefield last year. I'm there again in September, hope any evidence is published by then. Your (collective) forensic thread about bringing 5 co's north of battle ridge is also something I want explore on the ground.
Best wishes
Joe

I neglected to mention that I had the opportunity to meet Marcus Reno's G.G. Grandnephew and had a good chat. He portrayed Reno in last years reenactment and this years reenactment. He also has done reenactments around the south and has done Gettysburg. The guy is a real class act.

David, I just picked up another brew from Ft. Collins, thought they have a location in Ashville, NC "New Belgium Whizbang." Hoppy Blond Ale. Have had it before, did not know it was brewed there as well.

Did David take you guys to New Belgium? I swear the first time I had a fresh draft of Fat Tire it was a near heavenly experience.

New Belguim brews Fat Tire, their signature concoction, an amber ale that is too wimpy for me but some of their special brews are outstanding. Will keep an eye out for the Hoppy Blonde. 😉

I agree it is probably too wimpy for hard core beer drinkers but I find most beers are too hoppy for my taste. I'm just not on "the hoppier the better" bandwagon. I generally prefer a wheat beer or a good wine when available. I found that Fat Tire was the best beer offered on tap at most places when we were in Idaho and on a hot day or with the right food, it's pretty darn tasty.
Hubby is more of the micro-beer enthusiast though I enjoy tasting anything-he had even been known to get up in the wee hours on Black Friday to get the latest offering of Bourbon County Stout-which is well worth the effort.
