G'day all,
People whose posts I respect on Alliance invited me here (not sure of or connected to BLBH politics and certainly not politically correct). So here I am.
US Army vet (Nam +) and former RA officer (I thought I was Armor, but they kept sending me to Infantry assignments including combat for some reason). For anyone who knows or cares, I had four of the 6 prefixes on Active Duty and completed training for a 5th in NG and Reserves, but chucked it all in and left the US for good many moons ago. Ran to the sound of the guns around the world for years (project management with Bechtel and Fluor, etc.). Had the obligatory three marriages for a Nam vet. Sigh. Originally from Tségháhoodzání on the Navajo Rez.
Now am over the hill (heck, over the mountain range) and eking out an existence on an Australian veterans’ pension (as a US Vet I’m a second or third class citizen and don’t get medical, but I’m very grateful for what I do get.) I teach military history and “what the Bible really says – a non-religious look at the Bible”. As part of what I do, I produce detailed animated PowerPoints for my classes (that’s one reason I need facts – factoids are too hard to document). I just completed a five session presentation on the Centennial Campaign (75 minute sessions) and could have gone a lot longer on a topic near and dear. To quote my favorite academic, “So that’s it.”
Blessings,
Ray

Glad you gave it a whirl, you might even garner some interest in the Battle of New Orleans here. Welcome.

Welcome Ray
I live in Flagstaff and have worked with many Navajo offices. One of my Navajo friends Eddie Benally just retired. I did a tour in Vietnam in 1969-70.
Regards
Steve
