"Valley Of The Shadow" by Boylan and Olivier breaks new ground on the epic siege of Dien Bien Phu. It will become a classic along side Fall's "Hell In A Very Small Place" and Windrow's "The Last Valley" .
Unlike many books on well know, well covered battles, "Valley" breaks new ground, offers new insights, corrects previous inaccuracies and pops the balloon of popular myths. How many of have complained about each new LBH book, covering the same ground, telling the same story? The only thing different is the picture on the cover. Don't expect to find any same old same old here, nor is "Valley" a trip through the looking glass of revisionist history. First class research. First class writing. Highly recommended.
