QC I stand corrected. I know better than making a declarative statement especially when I am a fish out of water. I will say that the LBH was one of the worst disasters in the US Army records. Thank you for the heads about St. Clair, I will look that up. RW Terry was a General while Custer and many of the other Generals in the Generals in Blue book Chuck mentioned. He was the consummate political officer that always surface when peace breaks out. The fighting Generals are put to pasture after a war and treated like the old joke "soldiers and dogs stay off the grass" that comes true. I always thought Chesty Puller was a prime example of a warrior getting moved out after the Korean Conflict when he was shifted to backwater command positions. Poor treatment for a good Marine.
