I am in general agreement with the statements made.
Like any other WHIFF, we really will never know what would have happened had 6th Army Group crossed the Rhine in November 44. I would like to give a long hard look at the logistics situation of that army group before I go any further in statement making though. Their lines ran through the ports in Southern France. I am not at all familiar with the condition of those ports, nor do I know what priority on material they had. I do know two things though. The supply lines were long, and the three divisions that were mentioned being in 7th Army were first rate organizations, highly experienced, combat proven, and very proud to say that two of the three were National Guard divisions, the 36th and 45th.
I know one additional thing, that may have some bearing on the matter. Devers was universally disliked by the fellows up north.
