The above referenced book is by Col. French L. MacLean, US Army (ret.). So far an exciting, informative read. This book about the 1874 incursion into Sioux and Cheyenne lands in eastern Montana lays the ground work of study into some of what went wrong 2 years later at the BLBH. Steve, I know you already have the book. I must confess that I went directly to chapter 8. There is much there about what you refer to as "bad medicine." For all others this is a tease, you can look up the book on Amazon or Col. MacLean's web site. What little I have read so far indicates this will be as good as his Company M book. Thanks, Steve, for pushing me towards it. He is very complementary of Wiebert's work. I know I am going to enjoy this read.
Regards, Tom
