For those that do not get this,
All,
The November issue of True West magazine features an incisive review of Peter Cozzens, The Earth is Weeping: The Epic Story of the Indian Wars for the American West to be published this month. We expect that this book will reflect the well-researched style that has characterized the author’s endeavors.
The review by Stuart Rosebrook may be accessed at www.truewestmagazine.com/war-and-peace-in-the-west/. Also visit www.petercozzens.net/.
The issue also includes a brief profile of Major Marcus A. Reno by Mark Boardman that can be read at www.truewestmagazine.com/the-coward-of-little-big-horn/.
Please feel free to forward this message or otherwise distribute this information to all interested persons and parties.

Thanks Tom, I for one think that Reno initially did everything asked of him by his commander in the field GAC. I also reckon that he called a halt for the right reasons, but once in skirmish line and facing a possible incursion on his left and an enemy out flanking move, he then dithered slightly and things started to go wrong, this I suppose would be expected when commanders had no direct contact with each other and circumstances could change pretty fast.
But once he and his battalion moved into the timber area then things started to go really wrong and I feel he lost control, but having said that his more experienced commander may have been guilty of pretty much the same on cemetery hill.
