Well Chuck I think we will have a lady PM soon, as there are two woman and one man standing to replace Cameron, the man's name is Gove and I wouldn't trust the slimy git as far as I could our car. If I remember right this is not new or novel. Margaret Thatcher was a PM. If I recall correctly. I hope the best candidate wins. It is the US who is behind the times on this one.

We all know which country was first (and rightly too) to give the ladies a vote don't we? I will give you a clue, it is closer to Mac then you guys. Ian, maybe it was closer to you!
Isle of Man
This is the British Isles, but not the United Kingdom. They make their own rules here, and have done for a long time. The parliament, the Tynwald, is the world’s oldest continuous ruling body, governing the island since the Vikings arrived in the eighth century.
Their democratic credentials are exemplary, chalking up a world first in 1881 by giving (propertied) women the vote in parliamentary elections. In 2006, they lowered the voting age to 16. Not bad for a country that doesn’t exist.

Tom I know the Isle of Man very well, it is so close to were I live that you have fly by propeller to get there, because it is too close to fly to by jet, even in a propeller aircraft it takes next to no time.
Yes they do have their own set of rules, and many use the place as a tax haven.
There is nothing much there to write home about, but they are famous for their motorbike race (TT).
It is probably on the same lines as the Channel Islands, you know a part of us, but not joined so to speak.
