Good grief Dave! I mean--good grief!! I feel I have to find something fresh to eat just from reading that list. Believe it or not lard may be available all around the country but there are parts of the country it isn't easy to find or you if you do find it, it will be a 16 oz brick in with the other cooking oils. Here, especially with the holiday season coming they have stacks of buckets of the stuff--in at least 3 different areas of the store! Other than pie crust and fruitcake what do you use it for? I found this recipe the other day when searching for baking bacon and had to share it with you www.food.com/recipe/chicken-fried-bacon-w-cream-gravy-156010 My arteries clogged just reading it.

I have to admit I'm not that interested in owning any Custer memorabilia but it interests me what people will buy and sell and for how much.

Dave,
Moderation, moderation, moderation. Eggs and bacon for me in about an hour. It is said that an army marches on its stomach. No wonder the south lost.
This saying, which attests to the importance of forces being well-provisioned, has been attributed to both Napoleon and Frederick the Great. It is recorded in English from the early 20th century.
