The new banner looks quite spiffy thanks to your photograph! I appreciate your permission to use it.

At or near 3411 I'd wager. That is a fencepost in the foreground is it not?

3411 was my next choice.

As I recall, Steve indicated that the fencepost is where 3411 is, so this would be where Custer supposedly viewed Reno's action and the Indian village.

Back from Watercraft School. 25 new watercraft officers on the waters of Arizona. Some are brand new and others experienced in land patrol.
The last day for me was night contacts and it pretty well wore me out.
The picture is taken from what I call fence post. I believed it was the spot where Custer looked from. It is not 3411 but they are not far apart. In 2009 my son gave me a Christmas gift trip to the battlefield. When we drove from Weir toward the Reno/Benteen site I had him stop because it looked like a place I would ride to look in to the valley.
Later I heard of 3411 and thought that it was the same spot. The 3411 is near the pull out just before entering Reno/Benteen. When we used our GPS we could not find anything reading 3411.
I still like my location and its right above the timber area.

I love the calmness of your photo. It may sound kind of weird but if it hadn't been for events on couple days in June 1876 no one would really have a chance to stand there and just take in such a magnificent vista.
