Custer's action at the LBH have been studied and war gamed as much as any other event but the same mistakes have been made year after year. This paper by Major Tim Karcher provides the reader with a new angle of view of the LBH and the actions taken by the US Government and the army. "Victory Disease" is the product of three attitudes: arrogance, complacency and using established patterns to solve military problems. I found this paper to be a refreshing due to the willingness to look deep within the army itself to correct flaws. All too often the military is unable to step away and judge its self dispassionately andthat is what this author has done. Highly recommend reading this paper. Regards Dave
