I came across this article today and found it extremely interesting. Native American Netroots--Battle of the RosebudThere were 176 Crows at Rosebud. I was wondering the other day while reading that number if even though Crook didn't send word to Terry. Do you suppose it was possible that Custer's Crow might have known about Rosebud.

Really interesting article Beth. A lot of respect for each other in that society! If the Crow knew of the Rosebud fight, and perhaps they did, would anyone have listened to them or believed them? Cheers

Or even asked.
I also wonder if anyone during the years after LBH, if anyone asked the Crow scouts when they heard about Rosebud.

If the Crows were off with Terry's column and deep into Sioux territory, then how would they manage to keep in touch with their brothers operating with Crook, it could be possible I guess but if they did know then why not curry favour with their great white chief and alert Terry or Custer to the fact that this battle had knocked the biggest column out of the campaign.
Yan.

I'll have to look it up again but I believe the source I was reading that made me wonder about the possibility. Crook's warrior Crows left the area fairly quickly after the battle and returned to the Crow reservation. I don't expect that Custer's Crow scouts knew exactly what happened with Crook but I wonder if there is a possibility that they knew 'something' had happened.
