(1969) This is a movie that rarely gets mentioned when talking about westerns but I have always liked it. It was played a few nights ago on the western channel, GRIT, I believe it was. My Dad always liked it, enjoyed watching it when it was played on the late (late) show. Peck was a great actor and Omar Sharif really pulled off a great Mexican bandit/villain. And who doesn't enjoy a good treasure/gold hunt? Jose Feliciano's theme song. Huge supporting cast. Julie Newmar, Eli Wallach, Telly Savalas, Edward G. Robinson, Ted Cassidy (Lurch), Keenan Wynn, many others. Based loosely on the Lost Adams Mines story. Wasn't directed by anyone named Ford but great scenery too. Anyone else like this?

Don't recall ever seeing it, but I agree Peck was a great actor. Twelve O'clock High was my favorite of his. I will be on the lookout for this one though.

I remember it Elwood, great cast and beautifully shot if I recall, it was on not long ago one Sunday afternoon. Peck was great in any role from the boys from Brazil to pork chop hill. Only the valiant was on the other night. Ian
