Did we learn anything? Anyone aware of what was presented?

41: On this coming Sunday, the Battle of the Little Big Horn will be a hundred forty seven years old. During that entire time very little has been learned that was not known at the time. By knowing I mean cold hard fact, not speculation or opinion.
Now with Donahue, I do not know him, but do know that the man is dedicated to the subject and sincere. That being said, whatever was presented on the 17th is nothing more than more speculation and opinion. It might be a bit more informed than most, and certainly I have never known of him going so far out on a limb, only to have it chopped off behind him.
There is nothing new to be learned, because the data is incomplete and will always be so. In my less than humble opinion it is unwise to tilt at windmills, and to delude yourself into thinking that Sir Percival of the Round Table will come upon the Holy Grail of LBH knowledge at this late date.
Just my views of course, but I believe myself to be a realist's realist.

Nothing appears on their web site. Hopefully someone from the board went to the presentation where he spoke at 1000 MT on the 17th and can tell us about it. It is supposed to focus on Ford D area archelogy. We will see.
In more current news, NASA's goal is to land on the moon in 2025. They almost certainly not going to make it. Artemis, a 10 day mission carrying a crew of 4 is scheduled to launch in November 2024, orbit the moon, and return. SpaceX's Starship is supposed to allow a later mission to land. It has not yet successfully flown unmanned to Earth orbit, much less the moon.
When do you think the landing will occur?
Don't know. Don't Care. Don't know/don't care. 2025-2030 2030-2035 2035-2040 some other time.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Someday, but it ain't gonna be today so I am going to pour another cup of Earl Grey, light my pipe, wish Donahue did have something new and, watch my grass finally being cut after a month of rain. Yesterday was the first day that it did not rain, at least sometime during the day, sometimes all day, since the middle of May.

Isn't NASA abilities dependent on the current admin?
So - Who knows?
I'd love to see anther Apollo-like triumph!

NASA's abilities are dependent on the Congress to fund those activities. All funding begins in the House of Representatives, and they seem quite busy at the moment in abrogating those funding responsibilities in favor of a Republican led clown show.
So, what do you want for your country another Appollo like triumph or government directed at leaping headlong into the 16th Century? Personally, I'd like to see potholes getting fixed, crumbling bridges being rebuilt, fast reliable clean rail transportation, clean water, wildlife and natural resources preserved, strong national defense (we have been deluding ourselves on that one for 70 years), recognition in action, not just in law, that all men are created equal, loving our neighbors as ourselves, where everyone, all three hundred fifty million of us, are our neighbors. Yeah, I think a new Appollo mission would be just dandy too.
