Just heard the "my pillow guy" (huh???) say Australia has been "taken by the machines." Apparently "there is no going back" Can I just say by way of fact that in Australia all votes are cast by writing on paper ballots that are then counted by hand. There are no machines...he is a loon! Just saying.

The My Pillow Guy does not even have a passing acquaintence with the truth Mac. All this shows is that neo confederates are a hell of a lot dumber than you thought they were. In the end they will all go to jail for ploting sedition, and facilitating treason. The only ones who will be left looking like L'il Abner and Daisy May are the dumb shits that bought their products, believed their lies, and voted for them.
When you have a woman's right to privacy enshrined in a State constitution, and religious fanatics try to overturn it, then they lose by 18 points, in KANSAS of all places, it should tell L'il Abner and Daisy May, that there is a rocky road ahead.
"For they shall sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind" ------- Hosea 8.7
I should not worry too much were I you Mac. Mike Lindell is so stupid that he probably does not know the difference between Australia, and Austria. Both countries names begin with an "A" after all. He is still at the infantile stage of learning somewhere near the level of - Dick, and Jane went up the hill to fetch Spot, then took off for Venezuela looking for those voting machines that Hugo Chavez tampered with from beyond the grave, and so Spot could pee on the leg of Lindell's pre-school prom date, Sidney Powell.
PS: Mac, we have a state election official who followed Lindell through the Looking Glass into Wonderland, and she is heading for prison. By some mischance if the State does not get her, the Feds are licking their chops to get a bite of her sorry seditious hindparts. Here in the States tampering with the vote is a state crime, but in a Presidential election it is also a Federal Crime, and double jeopardy does not attach.

There is an old expression "When you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas". I just hope the sane Republicans are able to take back control of their party. Truth matters! Cheers

Truth does matter Mac, and truth is the only weapon that can be used to thwart this evil that is visiting our country at the moment. Every lie must be met with truth, and those that use truth must be stalwart in their defense of that truth.
The problem is not the Repulican Party per say. It is the Christian Nationalist wing of the Republican Party that presents the grave danger to democracy. Specifically it is the leaders of that wing. The politicians that seek only power, the preachers that have convinced their flock that we are a White Christian country, and the very Whiteness of the country is in danger. That is not truth. They are not being put upon. The truth is that we are a secular, multiracial, multicultural, multireligious country, where everyone is equal under the law, and where there is value in all points of view, short of treason and sedition, if we are only awake enough to see that value.
Domestic terrorism is on the rise in this country, and if it is not centrally conctrolled, it most certainly is centrally inspired. We are the only country in the world who facilitates the arming of our own domestic terrorists, by our lax gun laws permitting the sale of a weapon of war to any Tom, Dick, and Harry that wants one. We treat our Second Ammendment like a suicide pact, and the result in many cases is the mass deaths by gunfire, of the least able among us. In my view, anyone even caught with an assault weapon, should spend a considerable time contemplating their purchase in one of our finer institutions of do right.
Abortion is a poster issue for the WCN. Not a one of these people though consider the trauma many women go through with their personal health. To them it is black and white, no grey. Well it is not black and white and there is a hell of a lot of grey. You can be personally against abortion, as I am, but no one has the right to make anyone's decision for them. Those are best left to the woman herself, her doctor, her pastor if necessary, and her immediate family. In the end though, it is the woman decision, and her's alone. If there is a moral issue in all this, then that woman must stand before her God, and explain her decision, and the circumstances surrounding it. God is a pretty understanding, and if forgiveness is necessary and asked for, He will grant it. What is the greatest abomination though are these abortion laws with no exceptions, or with traps that no one can escape from. For instance no abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. You don't even know you are pregnant in most cases until after six weeks.
Truth does matter, and while the majority of the country is struggling with these issues and more, no one is paying attention to the lowest unemploment ever in the history of this country, and ecomomy that is moving foward at a brisk pace, and landmark legislation coming on line that will change the lives of every American for the better, with inovation, and not a reliance on the same old same old. There won't be a privately owned verhicle in this country not powered by electricity by 2050. We will do away with fossil fuels completely by the end of the century. We will communicate everywhere in this country with the same access and speed only people in well populated areas now enjoy. We will educate our young less expensively through inovation, reaching millions, reducing our present reliance on campus learning. There are so many more things that await us. All we must do is have the courage and foresight to reach for them.
All that said, there is still one force for evil that remains, and if it is left unattended to we will fail, and fall into a dark place where republican democracy cannot exist, much less thrive. Those places are the pockets that exist in our country of poverty, ignorance, and lack of opportunity. I pick on Mississippi, because Mississippi is the poster child for these things and has been since the founding. Nowhere in our country are these things more pronounced, although there are many other places where these factors exist in equal measure, than in Mississippi. Largely this is a matter of local governments not being responsive to even the basic needs of their citizens. I read yesterday of, I think it was ten counties in Gerorgia, that do not even have even one practicing physician within their borders. Problems like that are easily solved, but it takes government action to do so. Give state government subsidies to a physician to establish a clinic where one does not exist. It costs money, but the bang for the buck is ten fold. But no, governments in these pockets of ingorance have what can only be rightly called what it is, depraved indifference.
These pockets are also ripe for economic development. Mississippi for instance should have the leading and largest shipbuilding industry on the planet, with what they have to offer in terms of the areas conducive to building this type industry, that employee skilled workers at high salaries. Why aren't they, mainly because of their social policies, their poor school systems, and their draconian civil laws. What woman with two kids would want her husband to take a job in Mississippi or Alabama, when she can't even have a miscarraige without fear of incarceration, or not having any acceptable standard of health care available to her and her family in time of need? What woman would willingly send her children to substandard schools? These are some of the things even Republican women think about, contrary to what the bible thumping preachers tell Li'l Abner and Daisy May, and Daisy is going to buy that crap for only so long, before she says bull shit.
All I know for certain Mac is that the thrust of mankind is forward, and throughput man's history, going back was never a viable alternative. Those that would retreat from forward progress, will indeed reap the whirlwind of their self deception.

" the thrust of mankind is forward, and throughput man's history, going back was never a viable alternative" The attitude that has taken us from hand axes to nanobots and from dark age slavery to equality, liberty and fraternity. Cheers

Equality and Liberty are best left to the Rule of Law Mac, Fraternity is a work in progress, and will be, until then the Samaritan will tend to those among us that are the sick and injured of hope and spirit. Then, one by one fraternity will grow, as those who need help most are healed.
