You have to be a cream fiend Beth..I am. Or a sugar fiend, as it is often served covered with various combinations of chocolate and candy on top. I am with you on fresh peaches, when I bought my house it had an old peach tree in the backyard, beautiful fruit, and when time caught up with it and it died I was very sad. Put me down for apricots too. My parents had an apricot tree when I was growing up, the start of the joy of going out to the yard and picking fruit straight off the tree. Cheers

Peaches have been very very good this year, at least the Texas crop. I don't know why some years they are excellent and some years it's just oh well a peach. Usually I buy one or two peaches a year and I am on my 3rd lb this month. That may not sound like for much but hubby doesn't like to mess with peaches because they are a pain to peel. I on the other hand eat them peel and all.
I would be trying apricots as well right now but since I have to rely on grocery delivery services I haven't had any.
The fruit I have in the last year discovered that I like is raspberries. I swear I really used to dislike them then about a year ago it was like I discovered a whole new fruit. I wish I could say the same for black berries though--I like the flavor, dislike all of the little seed thingies.
BTW the local sweet corn crop has been excellent as well this year. I suspect there is a connection--either the heat or the rain was about perfect at the same time. Unfortunately Steve doesn't consider sweet corn with a peach for dessert a balanced meal.

I love raspberry and blue berry. Even on pavlova

I have no problem with the fruit on a pavlova it's all that baked meringue. I like meringue on a pie-or at least on my Grandma's cream pie, but it just doesn't look very good on TV or in pictures. I will reserve further judgement until I have tasted it.
