With regard to Jesse W. Vaughn, another work LINK is 'With Crook at the Rosebud' and it is possible to assess his work at the Rosebud battlefield. Here is a review by E.I Stewart.

Crows Nest, have you seen this footage before? He does tend to follow Greys work, which Pidgeon holes his view, but he shows a good view of the terrain.

Ian, I think this location is a little too far north and the timber area is behind the museum or slightly south. Concept correct.

I have seen that video series before. A location that far north works if we assume that the natives didn't place the camp within the trees just to the NE. If they used the trees to border the camp on each end this makes sense. But, that leaves a long distance to travel back to the Reno hill route.

It is a matter for debate I think, and those you are likely to debate :KNOW" exactly where it is. Problem is that all the knows are different. My advice. All you really need to know is that Reno skirmished in that valley, and then sit back, have a beer, and let those silly all knowing buggers hash it out while you watch a baseball game.
C'mon Oakland Athletics!!!!!! Been an A's fan since the Joe Rudi, Rollie Fingers Days.....
How is everyone? Aloha,

Well I used to follow them when they were in Philadelphia. So there. Whippersnapper.
Regardless, Connie Mack would be proud of you from his perch on the great diamond in the sky.

I don't go back to Philly, just KC, when they were the Yankees farm team.

Roger Maris was one of a number from KC to NY in the late 50's and early 60's.

My dear boy, Washington was first in war, first in peace, and last in the American League, but never the Yankee's farm team. Practice squad perhaps, but that is another story
Tom: Roger Maris, or Rose Marie, from the Dick Van Dyke show, which is it?
Now enough of this nonsense. We have gone so far off track with baseball, that our friend Crow's Nest has fallen into despair.
Perhaps Crow's Nest would like to take the location of the Reno skirmish line on as a project for the benefit of all. I sure would like to know with a reasonable degree of certainty where it was. The answer may be unattainable, but we do not know that yet. To that end I offer you any service I can provide, and I am sure the others would do likewise.

If you check all the maps available, then they are pretty much the same regading position, but you can see on a finds map that many artifacts are around the ara too.

Of all seven of these maps I think HR's posted immediately above is the most accurate as to location of the skirmish line.
It also shows just how impossible it was for Reno to hold in that area for any length of time in my opinion, plus how difficult it would be for Benteen to break through to Reno had not the whole affair been overcome by events.

The best and most accurate map as to location of the skirmish line is defiantly by Fred Wagner, but I didn’t want to post it without asking him first, but I don’t think it is relevant now because Crownest has took so little interest in following up his request.
