All great pictures. Chris, do you carry a business card that says I see dead people or See Grave Will Photograph. Maybe I am thinking of a movie and old tv series. By the way how many stones are too many in the fenced in area?

Sigh--I so miss living in the West. Big open spaces, no traffic. Thanks for sharing those pictures AK

One of the things I like about LBH is how different the area looks depending on the time of year. Even the time of day the picture was taken can make a huge difference on how things look.

Steve,
You may wish to let everyone know how many fought those 600+ NA's. We have not really discussed the previous skirmish/battle in full, nor the shot and the IED at the next site.
Regards, Tom

Tom
As you know SFRC has caught my attention because Benteen never entered it and returned to Reno Creek. I believe that Custer had a reason to send Benteen on this particular route that puts him 5 miles up noname and a look into SFRC. William has also posted on the target being a camp at the junction of SFRC and Reno Creek.
So reading Don Weibert's book The 1874 Invasion of Montana he writes about his early experiences of finding some of the locations of the camp sites of this expedition. Another book Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Gold and Guns by Col. French L. Maclean covers the 1874 Expedition.
So the Expedition had approximately 130 members. It had two cannons which they took for our purposes up Davis Creek, (we have been to the divide marker and expedition marker near it several times) down Reno Creek, and up SFRC to the marker in the photo which Maclean identifies the battle as "Battle of Great Medicine Dance Creek along with SFRC. It sounds better than the Battle of SFRC. Maybe?
There were 600 warriors attacking and attempting to run off the livestock. The only fatality of the expedition members occurred at this location.
Regards
Steve
